How to care for your caravan's exterior
A vital part of caravan maintenance is caring for the exterior of your vehicle, especially if you are travelling on off-road tracks or dirt roads.
Take advantage of service-station facilities when re-fuelling, and give your front and back windscreens a good wash down. Your caravan’s exterior will appreciate some TLC, and regular cleaning will help to cut long-term maintenance costs.
It can be easy to forget about cleaning your awnings but it is important to wash off any grime with an awning cleaner, and if you have canvas shades, use a waterproofer to avoid a build-up of mould. Due to its size, washing your caravan will use more water than most regular cars, so try to limit water waste by treating your caravan with an exterior care treatment, which will help to repel dirt, dust and stains, whilst acting as an exterior sealant. If your caravan is stored on the street, you can purchase a specialised caravan cover to reduce sun and weather damage.
