Keep your caravan toilet in good condition

Category: Caravanning

Most caravans are small in stature, however this does not limit them from being a comfortable, functional and tidy space.

If you are disciplined when cleaning your caravan, then you will hopefully feel more at home and at ease. In addition to creating usable storage space, you can also improve your caravan’s aesthetic appeal by keeping the toilet space in your caravan spick and span and in perfect working order. Here are some things to keep in mind.

  • If you are travelling as a family over an extended period of time, you could draw up a cleaning roster, and include toilet and bathroom cleaning, to share the duties with all travellers.
  • Keep your toilet-cleaner and brush easily accessible, to remind you to clean your toilet.
  • When you are travelling in tropical locations, such the Daintree, Cairns or Mackay, remember to keep the lid your toilet closed, so that you don’t receive unwanted tree-frog guests.
  • Regularly maintain the water in your toilet’s holding tank to ensure that no plumbing issue arise.
  • Take care not to flush foreign objects down the toilet, as this could cause a blockage that may prove disastrous while out on the road.

I will pass on advice that i received & have followed with good results. Morning Fresh Dishwashing liquid in the flush tank & Nappisan in the holding tank. Works a treat & is NOT expensive!
