Tips on caravanning in groups

Category: Caravanning

Many people love travelling in groups because it gives them someone to talk to and share the experience with.

Caravanning is a great activity to do in groups and there are many that you can be a part of. If you do decide to join a caravanning club or get together with some friends and go on a trip together, here’s some advice on the best way to travel with your friends.

When travelling in a group, try to remember exactly that — you are one member, or a small section of an even larger mixed group. Here are some things to keep in mind:

  • If you’re travelling in a big group, don’t be afraid to split up into smaller groups that share similar interests for some of the time.
  • Work out the goals of the groups — do people want an adventure or does the group want to rest?
  • Work out a similar budget for the group without being to invasive. It’s a good idea to know everyone’s budget limit for activities.
  • Work out the attractions you want to visit and the things you are keen do on the trip and ascertain whether the majority of the group feels the same way.
  • Work out a meal roster so that you can share meals and encourage social interaction. You could also organise game nights and sing-a-longs.
  • Respect your other group members and try to do what the majority of people want to do.

when driving, leave enough space between caravans to allow other vehicles to pass. Don’t bunch up.
