Architecture for Humanity

Category: Eco

Each year 10,000 people directly benefit from structures designed by Architecture For Humanity an organisation that uses professional architects across the world to design buildings for those in need.

Its advocacy, training and outreach programs impact an additional 50,000 people annually. From conception to completion, Architecture For Humanity manages all aspects of the design and construction process. Some of its recent projects include:

  • Skateistan: A skateboarding centre that functions also as a place of learning. This building is in Kabul Afghanistan and provides English literacy and life skills.
  • Navajo Elder Strawbale Housing: This is a family of community-designed housing prototypes.
  • Bhawani Orphanage: The project aims to achieve The Miracle Foundation’s effort to raise the standard of living for the children living in the orphanage.
  • Football for Hope: This is for the great number of people in Africa who play soccer. There are 20 sites scheduled for construction in various African cities.

These are just a few examples of how Architecture For Humanity is helping communities across the globe.
