On average, many of us probably spend more time during the week at work than we do at home, so to make some changes that can help the planet, the office is a great place to start.
Here are five easy ways to green your office.
- Switch off: At the end of the day remember to turn off your computer, the office heating and air conditioners, and any lights that don’t need to be left on for security reasons.
- Reduce paper: Where possible, print your documents double-sided, use online versions for big documents like annual reports and only print the pages you really need and use unwanted printouts as office scrap paper.
- Recycle: Organise a paper recycling bin for paper and cardboard.
- Reuse: Takeaway coffee cups can be made from polystyrene or treated card that can’t be recycled, so take your own mug with you when you go to get your morning coffee.
- Remember: CDs, folders, envelopes can all be used more than once.
