Australias coal-fuelled energy sources are looking to the future to hopefully ensure that the countrys economy eventually turns to more sustainable and renewable energy production.
Wind power can be used to generate electricity with wind turbines, which are usually fan-shaped contraptions with three rotors that capture the wind and convert it to energy. As the wind spins the rotor, the rotating movement powers a generator, which produces power.
Using the wind to generate power is a renewable power alternative, because wind, unlike coal, is a resource that will not run out, and can’t be used up. In addition to using wind power for generating electricity sustainably, windmills can generate mechanical power and wind pumps can drain and pump water.
You can learn more about how the Australian Government implements and monitors wind power production at the Office of the Renewable Energy Regulator’s website.

We need to embrace this technology in the appropriate areas where there is sufficient wind velocity to be useful.
