A new album from accomplished singer Katie Noonan and her new three-piece backing band, the Captains, will soon hit the shelves.
Noonan’s distinctive, almost ethereal style of music is hard to categorise, which is probably a good thing. She has said that the most important aspect of music to her is honesty. And that’s certainly what you get with Emperor’s Box. The mood on the album is quite dark at times, but Noonan has a quality voice and musically Emperor’s Box, although laid back listening, is very well crafted. Emperor’s Box is a collection of 13 tracks, many of which have been described as “gifts for loved ones”. The title track is the standout, but there is plenty here to keep Katie Noonan fans excited.
The CD is due in stores on April 9 and has an RRP of $29.95.
