What better way to enjoy the summer months than time spent at one of the east coast’s idyllic beaches?
A hotspot for the international surfing community, Kirra Point on the Gold Coast is known for is consistent beach breaks. A celebration of beach culture, outdoor activities and the Kirra environment, Kirra Surfstock 2012 showcases the region’s surfing roots.
Whilst predominantly focusing on surfing events, the Kirra Surfstock festival will also feature kite flying, market stalls, free live music, as well as stand-up paddle boarding events and beach soccer.
Aiming to raise awareness in the local Gold Coast community around environmentally sensitive issues, the festival will host discussion around sustainable coastal management and how to care for the natural Kirra environment, as well as promoting sustainable living practices.
A free event, the annual Kirra Surfstock 2012 festival promotes community engagement and offers family friendly activities.

Kirra Surfstock 2012 will be held at Roughton Park on Musgrave Street at Kirra Beach from 4–5 February.
