From the mining town of Moranbah, to tropical North Queenslands
Cooktown and Thursday Island, the Queensland Music Festival will reach
Queenslanders far and wide in attempt to showcase the states
exceptional musical talent.
This state-wide event will run for 17 days to showcase some of the best local, national and international talent to Queenslanders in Brisbane as well as those in over 20 regional and remote centres. The majority of events are free and are designed so all people of all ages and cultures can enjoy them. Featured artists include Dan Hicks, Bernard Fanning, Paul Kelly, Kev Carmody, Sara Storer, John Butler, Clare Bowditch, Tyrone Noonan, Topology and The Herd to name a few. These artists plus more will perform in various concerts throughout the festival. Concerts to look out for include Hidden Republic featuring the likes of Jimmy Little and The Black Arm Band performing on Thursday Island and in Brisbane, as well as Cannot Buy My Soul showcasing a host of musicians including The Drones, Paul Kelly and Bernard Fanning in celebration of the songs of Kev Carmody at Brisbane Riverstage. No matter where you are in Queensland there is a Queensland Music Festival event to match. Don’t miss what will be a spectacular event directed by Australian-music legend Deborah Conway.
