So that you won’t have to work out for the whole of January, here are some tips for a healthy and light Christmas dinner or lunch.
Healthy breakfasts:
Christmas Day is often hectic so don’t forget to have breakfast. Get some fresh summer fruits such as mangoes, cherries, nectarines and peaches to make this breakfast feel extra special.
Healthy lunch and dinner:
Make sure you provide a lot of salads and fresh vegetables to go with heavy roast meals and try to use lean cuts of meat. Having salads instead of roasted vegetables will also cut down on fat. Serve fruit as dessert instead of heavy cakes and creamy dishes. A lot of people don’t feel like heavy meals on Christmas Day because it’s often so hot. Instead, try to make something light and fresh.
Healthy appetizers:
Instead of oily fried entrees, serve things like fresh prawns, nuts and Vietnamese rice-paper rolls.
