Try creating a signature Easter feast by making your own chocolate Easter eggs.
Making Easter eggs is a great activity to do with the family, and homemade eggs can make special Easter gifts. You won’t need an excuse to stock-up on sumptuous fine chocolate, as good-quality chocolate is key to making delicious eggs. Here are a few tips on how to create your own Easter eggs.
Use plastic moulds (which you can buy from craft or cooking stores and come in a variety of shapes and sizes) to make either solid or hollow eggs. When filling your moulds, it is helpful to spray the inside plastic with cooking oil to make sure the finished product will pop out easily. Carefully melt the chocolate and use the back of a teaspoon to spread chocolate quickly and evenly over the inside of the mould. Use clips to seal the mould together, and rotate the mould to distribute the chocolate over the seals. Refrigerate finished moulds for 10 minutes then carefully release the set eggs.
You may also like to create patterned eggs, which can be made by drizzling white chocolate over the mould, allowing to set, and covering with darker chocolate.
