Frustrated with the fact that her heavy-handled pate knife wouldnt stay upright in a container of quince paste, Tasmanian jewellery designer Anita Dineen took matters into her own hands.
The result was the Glide Gourmet Knife, a svelte instrument that makes spreading soft cheeses, pate and quince paste a highly pleasurable experience.
Anita takes pleasure in looking at the small intricacies in life and uncovering the extraordinary in the ordinary. Her knife design was recently awarded the 2009 Tasmanian Design Award and People’s Choice Award for its simple yet highly functional design, meeting the criteria that it be compact, easily transportable and affordable. In keeping with the feature of natural elements, the stainless steel, smart utensil comes in a unique, recyclable card box designed by Anita.
The knife makes the perfect gift for true cheese connoisseurs who crave an ending to their cheese platter frustrations. It is a modest $25 and is available for order online.
