Nestled in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, Banff is a great holiday location no matter what time of year you are visiting.
From fantastic skiing and snowboarding during the winter, to wonderful hikes, wildlife spotting and outdoor activities in summer, there is plenty to keep you occupied. Depending on your interests and budget, there is a wealth of options to explore when visiting this Canadian mountain town.
Winter:
While it hosts its fair share of tourists throughout the year, Banff is a slightly less hectic option to the Whistler ski resort. With three separate ski locations nearby (Sunshine, Lake Louise and Mt Norquay), there’s ample variety of slopes to suit all levels of skiers and snowboarders. Keep an eye out for the beautiful ice sculptures in the area!
Summer:
With low humidity and extended daylight hours, the summer months in Banff allow for enjoyable outdoor experiences. Try an overnight horseriding adventure, a hike through the beautiful mountainous panorama that surrounds the town, or one of the many water activities including kayaking, fishing, canoeing or swimming.
