THE FRIENDLY SMILES WELCOMING VISITORS TO BRISBANE ARE PROVING A WINNER WITH BRISBANE AIRPORT VOTED NUMBER ONE IN THE AUSTRALIA/PACIFIC REGION FOR AIRPORT STAFF SERVICE.
The results, published in the latest Skytrax World Airport Awards survey, put Brisbane at the top of the heap for making visitors feel welcome to the region. Pipped at the post by Auckland Airport for the spot as the top airport for the region, Brisbane came in second over-all for the Australia/Pacific region, with Melbourne Airport running in third place. The World Airport Awards are based on the results from 8.6 million questionnaires completed by airline passengers in 2008/9, covering more than 190 airports worldwide. The survey evaluates traveller experiences across 39 different airport service and product factors – from check-in, arrival, transfer through to departure at the gate. The worldwide survey interviews for the 2009 awards totalled 8,640,552, with over 97 different passenger nationalities participating. Incheon International Airport in Seoul, South Korea, has been named World’s Best Airport for 2009 in the Skytrax awards. Top spot for best duty free shopping was Dubai, best airport dining was Hong Kong, best baggage delivery was experienced in Helsinki and cleanest bathrooms were at Kansai Airport, Japan.
Although receiving another award would be Brilliant…. This one is a great accomplishment being recognised as being the FRIENDLIEST around sure beats clean Bathrooms.
