Did you know that watching more than two hours of television every day could possibly increase your risk of being overweight and developing heart disease?

Watching TV can promote the kind of sedentary lifestyle with which these negative effects are associated. Allowing children to develop excessive TV-watching habits can also have a negative effect on their health, as it can prevent them from getting the regular exercise they require for healthy growth. Instead of watching TV, why not try these activities. ߬߬

Get outdoors by going for a walk, playing a game of cricket with the family, or visiting your local park for a picnic.߬

Try your hand at some arts and crafts, start a scrapbook, learn to paint or restore antique furniture.

Look up some gourmet recipes and work on your cooking skills.߬

Give a friend or family member a call or, better yet, write them a personal letter to let them know you are thinking of them.߬

Participate in the arts community by attending a play, seeing some live music or taking a stroll through your nearest art gallery

    I watch more then 2 hours of TV a day, however, prior to that, I’d be spending every last minute of day light outside, working on my property, playing with the dog or working the horse. I think it’s all about balance and the right food.
