An easy guide to pot plants

Category: Home+Garden

Potted plants can be a gardeners best friend they are easy to maintain and can add a homely aesthetic to your garden.

It is reasonably simple to set up a green potted corner in your garden, balcony or courtyard.Once you have determined where you would like to locate your pot plants, do some research or talk to your local nursery for advice on which plants will fare best in that area. As a general rule, herbs and azaleas love full sun, while ferns and orchids should flourish in the shade. Try to steer clear of roses and native Australian plants, which love to spread their roots in the ground and therefore don’t fare well in pots. Finally, choose a good-quality potting mix and remember to choose a large enough pot so that your plant has room to grow. It is important to note how the shade and sun varies throughout the day, so that you can be mindful of when your plants will need watering.
