Whether theyre plastic or metal, Venetian blinds are easy to clean if you know howto do it properly.
Common to most Venetian blinds is their ability to attract dust and dirt. Rather than wiping them down while they are still hanging, which can spread the dust around the house, take the blinds down and outside so nothing else gets dirty. Here are two great ways you can clean blinds.
Method 1:
Get out your vacuum cleaner and put on a brush nozzle. Give the blinds a dust and a vacuum. Then place the blinds in a bathtub ensuring the slats of the blind are covered by water. Leave it soak for half an hour and give it a gentle scrub in the meantime. Let out the water and run clean water over the blind. Take the blind outside or onto a deck area and leave to dry.
Method 2:
Take the blinds down and outside and hose them down. Flip them over and do the same to the other side. Wipe them down with soapy water and rinse. Then leave to hang outside.
