Christmas can be a very costly time of year, especially for large families.
It can be important to cut costs where possible when it comes to spending money during the holidays.
One of the simplest ways to save money, and to get a little more creative, is to create your own wrapping paper. This can be a great source of fun for all ages and is a creative way to put a personal stamp on a gift to loved ones.
To make your own Christmas wrapping, buy some plain brown paper or butcher’s paper from your local newsagent or supermarket. Alternatively, you may be able to find some coloured paper in green or red for a more festive touch.
Lay the paper flat and to this add paint, stamps, glitter, stickers or anything else you can find. Decorate to your own, or perhaps your loved one’s, taste. Try Christmas designs such as holly and reindeer.
When your paper is completely dried, shake any loose glitter from it before wrapping your present and tying it with a ribbon.
