Plan a board games night

Category: Home+Garden

Game nights are a great way to get together with friends, save some of your hard-earned cash and have a bit of fun.

They can be formed around any number of people but when planning your own game night, keep there are a few things to keep in mind so that things run smoothly. Here are some suggestions:

  • Feed your guests. Like any party, it is only polite to offer some food to visitors. This does not need to be a three-course meal, but can simply consist of some light snacks like dips and cheese. Having finger food available is also a great way to provide energy during the game but without taking away from the night.
  • Provide beverages. Similarly it is important to provide drinks. Remember that not everybody shares the same tastes so try to provide a selection of soft drinks, juices and alcohol for guests.
  • Use a selection of games. Don’t just stick to one card game. A games night is the perfect time to test out new ideas and bring back some classics. Great group games include Pictionary, Monopoly and Twister. Varying games is also a great way to ensure that everybody will play at least one game they enjoy.
