Terms and Conditions
This competition is a promotion run by The Road Ahead Publishing Co Pty Ltd ABN 72 009 716 465 (“Promoter”).
Entries and information on prizes and how to enter form part of these terms and conditions (“Terms”). Entries not completed in accordance with these Terms are ineligible. Participation in this competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms.
The competition is open to residents of Queensland over the age of 18 years of age only, who are current RACQ members when the competition is drawn.
This competition will involve one round in which entrants are eliminated.
Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and related entities of the Promoter are ineligible to enter.
The competition commences at 8.30am on Thursday, February 2, 2012 and closes at 5pm on Friday, March 30, 2012. For the first stage elimination round of the draw, 15 prize winners will be selected initially, divided proportionately between the methods of entry. These drawn entries will then be combined and the final winner will be drawn at random from the pool of combined entries.
The first elimination round of the competition will be drawn at 10am on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at RACQ The Road Ahead, 300 St Paul’s Terrace, FORTITUDE VALLEY and Oxygen 8 Communications, Suite 156, Life Style Working, 117 Old Pittwater Road, Brookvale, NSW 2100. The final draw of the competition will be drawn at RACQ The Road Ahead, 300 St Paul’s Terrace, FORTITUDE VALLEY on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 3pm.
There will be one (1) prize winner in this competition that will be chosen at random from all eligible entries received. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Entrants may enter the competition as many times as they like, however, only one prize will be awarded to the prize winner regardless of the number of times their entries are drawn.
Entry is by: writing your name and address on the back of an envelope and posting it to Spicers Competition, PO Box 527, Spring Hill, Qld, 4004; by SMSing the code word SPICERS along with your name, RACQ membership number to 1999 RACQ (1999 7227), SMS entries charged at $0.55 incl. GST; or by filling in the entry form at roadahead.com.au/win/spicers.
The prize winner will receive one night’s accommodation at each of Spicers six south-east Queensland properties – Spicers Peak Lodge, Spicers Canopy, Spicers Clovelly Estate, Spicers Tamarind Retreat, Spicers Balfour Hotel and Spicers Hidden Vale and a night at Spicers Vineyards Estate in the Hunter Valley, comprising seven nights in total. The prize also includes a one-hour spa treatment at Spicers Peak Lodge, all meals and beverages at Spicers Peak Lodge and Spicers Canopy, and breakfast at Spicers Clovelly Estate, Tamarind Retreat, Balfour Hotel, Hidden Vale and Vineyards Estate. Total prize value is more than $4300. The prize winner must book and use their one night accommodation at each of the seven Spicers properties within 12 months.
The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash and is subject to booking availability.
The winner will be notified on the phone number or mail address they use to enter the competition. Competition results will also be published on www.roadahead.com.au two weeks after the final draw. The prize will be posted or couriered to the winner as appropriate within one month of the competition being drawn.
If the competition winner is unable to be contacted within three (3) weeks of the draw a redraw will occur. In the event that a redraw is required it will be held at 9am on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at RACQ The Road Ahead, 300 St Paul’s Terrace, FORTITUDE VALLEY and the redraw winner will be notified by mail or by telephone.
All entries become the property of the Promoter. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost or misdirected entries.
The information that entrants provide will be used by the Promoter for the purpose of conducting the competition, and to periodically keep entrants informed about the goods and services provided by the Promoter, related entities and its service providers. By entering this competition entrants consent to the use of their contact details for the purposes described in this clause. The Promoter may use or disclose entrant’s personal information to related entities or other appropriate third parties in accordance with its privacy policy available on its Internet site at www.racq.com.au/privacy.
If for any reason this competition is not capable of being conducted by the Promoter as intended, whether because of computer virus, mobile phone failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter which in the Promoter’s opinion affects the administration of the competition, security, fairness or integrity, the Promoter may in its sole discretion, cancel, modify or suspend the competition, subject to the approval of the gaming authority in Queensland as may be required.
The Promoter will not be liable for any loss or damage or for any personal injury sustained as a result of taking the prize[s] or entering into this competition. The Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability or merchantability or any goods or services offered as prizes. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for any loss suffered to person or property by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent, by the Promoter or its employees or agents, in connection with the arrangement for the supply, or the supply, of goods and services by any person to the prize winner and, where applicable, to any persons accompanying the prize winner.
