Choosing the right webcam

Category: Tech+Gadgets

Using a webcam is a great way to communicate with family or friends via the internet.

A webcam is a camera device that allows you to see the person who you are talking to on your computer screen, in real-time, using a chat program such as Skype. Some computers come with an in-built webcam (a small camera at the top of your screen), but there are many options available to purchase your own webcam. Logitech offers numerous webcams for reasonable prices, which you can browse online, or ask your local technology store. Some webcams come with a higher price tag and at first you may be overwhelmed with choice. It is important to narrow down your options to the most basic points –ideally your webcam should be simple to set up, and able to record your face and voice while you are looking at your screen. It is important to note that the person whom you are talking to needs to have a webcam, for you to able to see them. If you are unsure of exactly which webcam is best for you, you can research online or ask friends or colleagues who already own webcams for their advice on which models are the most effective.
